With the passing of summer, and winter just around the corner, we find ourselves preparing for the cold months ahead… winterizing the vehicles, shutting down water sources before the freeze, and pulling the winter clothing from the closets in preparation for the winter season approaching. For many, the winter months are a time of slow down and a perfect time for playing catch-up on your things to do list that we may ignore during the beautiful summer months, where time is best spent best outdoors with family and friends. In addition to finishing those indoor chores, one may be inclined to upgrading and/or adding to the homes living space and comforts, and a sauna would fit the bill perfectly.
Over the years, customers and home owners have express their joy in having a sauna as part their living space and consider it not only a time for relaxation, but a place of reflection, and a soothing way to wind down from a long and busy day without the burden of driving to the local gym or spa, which have been long time associated with the use of saunas ... In addition to the relaxation qualities, sauna have been widely regarded as providing its users with many health benefits. It's been proven to stimulate circulation, relax sore and tired muscles and cleanse the skin and body of accumulated toxins...
Contrary to popular belief, a sauna is quite easy and straight forward to build and prices will fit just about any budget... There are many books on the subject but the one we favor is "The Art of Sauna Building". It's an easy read and quite in depth on the whole process from beginning to end. Our company has had many customers give that book a "thumbs up". Our saunas are entirely made of kiln dried "A" grade cedar and aside from the wiring (which must be done by a qualified electrician) the build can be done by anyone willing to put in a bit of time and effort.
When deciding on the space your new sauna will encompass, it's important to double check your cubic footage to ensure the proper sized heater. You don't want your heater running inefficiently or not performing to standard for which it was designed...
Please feel free to call the cedar shop with your questions on saunas, or any of our other products and happy building and good luck on your sauna project...
